Joshi
Members of the Joshi Clan
Professor Bindumadhav Joshi: He is the chief of this
clan, since there is no one older than him. He is a retired English professor,
but speaks many languages with fluency besides English. His handwriting is the
most beautiful I have ever seen in my life.

Asha Bindumadhav Joshi: She was not originally a
Joshi, but has been admitted to this clan as an honorary member. The reason is
that she spent most of her precious time with a Joshi – Professor Joshi, that
is. She is a retired Marathi professor, and continues to lecture in Marathi on
various philosophical topics, like ज्ञानेश्वरी.

Seema Subodh Ratnakar: Her last name now is
not Joshi, but she is definitely a Joshi. She is presently an English teacher
- teaching being a trait she inherited from her father, Professor Joshi.
She lives in Vadodara, and likes to read English literature.

Anjali Bindumadhav Joshi: She is one of those people
whose numerous talents were appreciated more by the Americans than the Indians.
So she moved to Seattle and
now lives there. She teaches music to youngsters as well as to
grown-ups. When time permits she does some software testing.

Madhura Subodh Ratnakar: She is the daughter
of Seema Ratnakar, and thus a qualified Joshi. She is a bit of an
introvert, but loves to chat with bacteria and viruses. She is an M Sc
graduate and presently exploring research opportunities in the field of
Microbiology.

Kedar Subodh Ratnakar: He is Seema
Ratnakar's son, and is presently an engineering student. He loves to break
things and see how they look from inside. Fortunately he doesn’t do this with
living things. He likes to read books like “A brief history of time”; so it is
dangerous to chat with him.

Sarang Abhay Joshi: He is presently an
8th grader in Gurukul, Pune. He loves electronic gadgets and Harry
Potter. Well, which kid these days doesn’t? Right now, he is busy deciding
whether to make basketball a career or tennis.

Sanika Abhay Joshi: She is presently
a 3rd grader in Gurukul, Pune. She likes to make funny faces and
watching TV. She has started using Microsoft Paint, but has not shown much
interest in the Internet. She has a bit of flair for drawing and painting, and
has agreed to learn badminton.

Rashmi Anjali Joshi: She is arguably the most talented
of the third generation Joshis. I say “arguably” because there is a lot of
argument about it! There is no sport that she doesn’t play, nor is there a
musical instrument that she doesn’t play. She is presently a high schooler in
Seattle, USA.

Subodh Ratnakar: He is not a
Joshi by any stretch of imagination. But he has seen Joshis closely for a long
time, and hence is a knowledgeable person about Joshis. He is an honorary member
of this clan.

Tanuja Abhay Joshi: Her maiden last name was
"Pethe", and she never thought she would end up in the Joshi clan.
But, here she is. That’s called destiny; or “good fortune” as I see it. Along
with Professor Joshi, she is the most educated in the clan, by virtue of a
doctorate. She comes from the illustrious Pethe tribe of Mumbai. She works with
Microsoft Research in Bangalore on some cutting edge projects.
